چکیده

Semantic annotation is an approach to achieve semantic interoperability of heterogeneous resources. An ontology-based semantic annotation framework has been proposed, that can enrich and reconcile semantic representations of process models. The approach has been implemented in a prototype annotation tool, Pro-SEAT, to facilitate the annotation process. Evaluation methods for ontology-based semantic annotation is a new research topic a. We view the annotation framework as a modeling approach, and have choosen to adapt SEQUAL for the evaluation of the approach. SEQUAL has previously been used for the evaluation of modelling languages and approaches, including the evaluation of ontologies, process models, and requirements models and modeling languages. Using the semiotic quality categories in SEQUAL, an evaluation has been made at both the meta-model level (GPO and the PSAM specifications) and model level (the PSAM model instances and the Pro-SEAT tool).

Using Semantically Annotated Models for Supporting Business Process Benchmarking

In this paper we describe an approach for using semantic annotations of process models to support business process benchmarking. We show how semantic annotations can support the preparation of process benchmarking data by adding machine-processable semantic information to existing process models without modifying the original modeling language, conduct semantic analyses for the purpose of perfo...

Enabling Risk-Aware Enterprise Modeling using Semantic Annotations and Visual Rules

The engagement in professional risk management is today a fact for most large organizations. In order to satisfy regulation and auditing requirements, an important step thereby is the identification and documentation of risks in an organization and the definition of measures for their mitigation. Thereby, the use of enterprise models provides the foundation for a systematic and holistic analysi...

An Approach to Evaluate and Enhance the Retrieval of Web Services Based on Semantic Information

Web services have the potential to be composed to cross-organizational workflows. Due to their loose coupling, Web services provided by internal and external parties can be integrated into workflows at runtime. This vision aims for dynamic ad hoc collaborations between different business partners and entities. In order to achieve the (semi-) automatic composition of Web services to business pro...

A BPMO Based Semantic Business Process Modelling Environment

The SUPER project presents a novel approach to BPM by using Semantic Web and Semantic Web Services. Existing processes can be augmented with semantic annotations, so that formal reasoning techniques can be applied for discovery, composition, mediation and execution of business processes. This paper introduces a modelling environment that supports the SUPER approach to Semantic BPM.

Model-Driven Semantic Service Matchmaking for Collaborative Business Processes

Business process modelling and execution in a collaborative environment requires a set of methodologies and tools which support the transition from an analysis to an execution level. Integrating the process with a pre-existing IT infrastructure leads to typical interoperability problems. Service-oriented architectures are today’s favorite answer to solve these interoperability issues. To tackle...
